Thinking of building a new PC.

Postby johhwa on Tue Mar 02, 2010 4:55 pm

Hello. I am new to all of this and I'm thinking about putting together a PC. As an aside, I have a nine year-old Dell that runs Windows ME. Is it possible to convert this over to Windows 7? I am guessing, 'no'. Can you recommend a 'bare bones' kit to get started? I use my computer for internet, e-mail and playing 'play money' poker online. Thanks. I look forward to reading more on this site. Joshwa.

Well joshua one option is to replace old with newer one. As you said you have just the basic requirement for your computer. You don't want high ended rig to play games. I think it is possible to convert your old to new. I suggest you to change some of the parts in your computer and it becomes almost new. All you have to change is motherboard, ram and processor. Just check it out at newegg and purchase individual parts and assemble it.

have a look at http://www.desktoppcbuilding.co.uk, it provides good info on building a pc from scratch, or just individual parts
