CM690 Front Panel Cables

Postby Kate on Fri Jan 01, 2010 5:30 pm

Hi all! I have just purchased a Coolermaster 690 Case and I am trying to build my new pc. I am having some trouble on figuring out how the front panel cables are placed in the motherboard.

The case has these front panel cables:

One H.D.D.Led with 2pins (red and white cables)
One Power led + with 1pin (green)
One Power led- with 1pin (white)
One Power SW with 2pins (orange and white) and
One Reset SW with 2pins (blue and white)

The problem is that I don't know:

1)for the hdd led cable which of the 2 cables (red or white) is the + or -
2)for the power sw cable which of the 2 cables (orange or white) is the ground or power)
3)for the reset sw cable which is the reset or ground

I am guessing that the white ones are the ground cables and the - cables but I am not sure.

Can somebody help me???

Most cases have all the cables labeled. i.e. HDD, Reset, PWR etc. The pins on some motherboards are also label but could be quite diffcult to see. If they are not labeled then have a look at the motherboard manual and it will tell you what each pins are for.

The best advice is to connect all the obvious cables in to its corresponing pins. The remaing pins which you are unsure of, each can just do trial and error until you get them right. It will do no harm to your motherboard or case.
